Our Story

Challenge

In 2008 the Sarnia Rotary Charitable Foundation decided to donate funds for the building of a new facility for three related organizations: Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Rebound.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters facilitate life-changing, mentor relationships that inspire youth to reach their potential. Sarnia-Lambton Rebound offers community-based programs providing life skill education to youth.

The new facility, called the Dow Centre for Youth, was to be built in 2008 but additional funding was needed to make the centre a reality.

Solution

The Foundation donated $16,000.The Judith & Norman Alix Foundation donated $475,000.
